Drug Description
The drug Ecstasy can usually be found in tablets with many different designs, like some shown above. It may also be found in little capsules. (Shown on the left)
How the drug is taken
You can take ecstasy orally by capsule or tablets. You can chew them, swallow them, sublingually take them (place them under your tongue), rail it (crush it and snort it), smoke it, plug it (put it up your butt), or shoot it (melt it and put it in a needle and inject yourself)
Short-Term Effects
The short term effects of taking ecstasy include energy, distorted time/perception, sharp increase in body temperature, perceptual changes, anxiety, jaw-clenching, dry mouth, appetite changes, high blood pressure, headaches, eye twitches, blurred vision, nausea, faintness, seizures, and day-after depression
Long-Term Effects
The long term effects of taking ecstasy include dramatic heart rate increase, emotional reactions, confusion, depression, sleep problems, craving for the drug, anxiety, heart palpitations, and impaired memory.
Interesting Facts
Ecstasy causes blurred vision which is why you aren't suppose to drive while high/intoxicated on the drug. Ecstasy also gives you a false judgement on perception, making it hard to tell whether the ground is 5 feet up or 50 feet.
